This week my Organic Smoothday had to wait until today (usually it’s Tuesdays). I made a real detox drink, a perfect after ravin smoothie !
Black sesame seeds
Red Russian kale
Frozen blueberries, raspberries and blackberries
Black sesame seeds are rich in magnesium, calcium and antioxidants which helps regulate blood pressure and sleep patterns and reduce tensions and head aches.
Chia seeds are rich in antioxidants, minerals, omega 3 and fiber which improves your brain health and digestive health and a great detox for the body.
Pumpkin seeds are rich in magnesium, antioxidants, vitamins and zink, which improves the immunsystem and digestion.
Red Russian kale is rich win vitamines and iron, which improves blood circulation and increase energy and is also a great detox due to it’s high fiber content.
Liquorice root: balances PMS and prevent liver inflammatory conditions. Don’t use if you have problems with high blood pressure though.
I also used banana, lemon, orange, frozen blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, dates and my left over cinnamon grenadine.
When eating cruciferous greens raw (the Russian kale in this case) without it creating gas in your stomach, to release some more nutrients and get out the bitter taste too you have to ‘massage’ it. Basically wash the leaves, tear out the hard stem, and then in a bowl, cover with a generous amount of salt (don’t worry you can use as much as you like as you will wash the salt off later) and pour over a bit of lemon juice. Then rub and massage them for as long as you need until they become soft, squeeze as much liquid out as you can and then rinse the leaves and squeeze again. Now you can put the leaves in the blender 😉
